Hindsight is very cheap; where were all these bears when the nasdaq was at 5000 and cnbc had some amazingly bullish guests on? (Confession: I had PMCS short in the 190's and took a small gain. I am going to rue letting go of that one too early for a long time). These kinds of days are brutal on the emotions, but ones in which a community like the MG thread helps one try to keep perspective.

Now the trying-to-call-a-bottom call is becoming a liturgical chorus. Keep in mind that it is just as difficult as calling a top, it is only clear that is has happened in retrospect.

This is a time to be patient, to play small long positions carefully, and to short prudently. There are SCORES of broken charts and broken hearts out there but rest assured this is positive for traders who know how to manage risk going forward. As we are cleansed from excess we are setting up a future environment where charts and earnings will again matter. The MG approach will be very helpful indeed in this bright future which at present we can only dimly see.
