I would rather say war is being used as an excuse to keep the POG down where too many advisors are saying gold has a war premium build in. This might be true only in one scenario - people of Iraq will welcome US Army with the flowers and will pay the tribute in the form of free oil. There is no other way to fix imbalances US are facing.
