A very special music break:. IMO this was Dave Van Ronk's best album. Released in 1964, it was hugely influential on those of us working hard to become competent in the complex interplay between vocal and acoustic guitar finger styles. From 1963 thru 65 saw this master of ballads, blues & spirituals live at the Gaslight Cafe' in NYC many times.

In 1965, had the opportunity to visit him and his wife Teri and play that magnificent 1952 Gibson J-200. Have played a lot of fine instruments in my life. That one transcended all the rest by an order of magnitude. The incredibly rich deep bass resisters, flashing, brilliant treble, and beautifully balanced intermediate tones. Only the imagery of exaggeration can convey the experience. Like being Zeus with thunder and lightning coming from your hands. Ever after referred to that Gibson as the guitar Arc of the Covenant. In other words? Yeah, I could dig it.<g>
