Oh look, CL!! Here's our very own tonto in yet another article! I'm sure the Stooges will be SO proud! <wink nudge>

But even the Securities and Exchange Commission has begun to rely on Internet investors. In a terrific piece this week, Wall Street Journal reporter Rebecca Buckman told the story of D. Tod Pauly, a small business owner and cyber investor who decided there was something odd going on with a company in which he had invested. Pauly began making phone calls and doing online research into the company, along the way posting his findings on Web-based investors message boards. Soon Pauly found out that the president of the company in question had been convicted of felonies three times. The SEC didn't know. And they didn't ferret it out, but took action after Pauly posted his findings.
