Mark, if you've got the spare cash, why not treat yourself to a new PC? (But I agree that Yogi's method would take a bunch of cash).

Separately, my understanding was that INTC made its gravy by encouraging PC makers/buyers to upgrade to the fastest, most powerful PC processors.

And there is supposed to be, recently, much more meaningful competition to the INTC mononopoly on the low-end processors.

I seriously doubt INTC wants to get into the position where it's merely offering CPUs that are equivalent to what the competition is offering.

So whether it really pays to push the the CPU speed or not, I'd guess that's the direction they are heading--until somebody at INTC comes out and says otherwise. Any delays wouldn't be caused by marketing strategy.

Just my opinion. Somebody with a tech bent would have a much more solid opinion to offer you.

PS: You only live once, as far as I know. So why not pamper yourself with something you'll enjoy using, like a really cool PC?
