That's funny, my bank had no problem processing a $35 check from England a couple of years ago. In 2001, I bet a lot of people on SI a bottle of our respective favorite tipples that the tech wreck would not cause a second Great Depression, but the only guy to pay off (a bottle of Macallan scotch) was a Brit, Pearlie. Everybody else welshed.

I have a client who sends $1000 to his ex in Peru every month via wire transfer, can't recall whether it costs him $15 or $30 but no more than that.
