Qorvo jumps after activist Starboard takes stake

Qorvo Inc. (NASDAQ: QRVO) gained 7.2% in premarket trading after activist Starboard Value disclosed a stake in the chipmaker.

Starboard reported owning a 7.7% stake in Qorvo, a supplier of radio frequency chips to Apple and Samsung, according to a 13D filing on Friday.

News of the Starboard stake was reported late Thursday by the WSJ.

Qorvo (NASDAQ: QRVO) is scheduled to report Q3 results on Jan. 28.
