Itronics Marketing ``Second Generation'' GOLD'n GRO Liquid Fertilizer Products,
Ships First Tank Truck Load of Product From Reno Facility

Business Editors/High-Tech Writers

RENO, Nev.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 15, 2001--Itronics Inc.
(OTCBB:ITRO) today reported that its subsidiary, Itronics
Metallurgical, Inc., has completed development of three "second
generation" GOLD'n GRO liquid fertilizer products. Also, this month it
shipped its first tank truck load of product from its Reno processing
plant.
"The second generation GOLD'n GRO products incorporate new
formulation technology and improve the nutrient availability to the
plants being fertilized," said Dr. John Whitney, Itronics President.
"One of the products improves plant rooting and root growth, another
of the new products is for general use for young plants that are
already started, and the third is a specialty product for general use
in all horticultural and agricultural markets."
"Truck load or partial truck load orders have been received for
each of these new products, which are being used in the nursery,
vegetable, turf, citrus, and fruit tree markets," Dr. Whitney said.
"With tank truck loads being shipped out of Reno, sales of GOLD'n
GRO fertilizer for the fourth quarter are expected to be 5 to 10 times
higher than in the prior year, both in volume and revenues," said Dr.
Whitney. "Sales in the first part of October are already significantly
greater than last year's fourth quarter total."
