Yeah but burning wood, in stoves, power plants, or forest fires, is still renewable. The trees grow back.

North America has been reforesting for decades because people don't burn so much wood for heat and our agriculture is much more efficient. North America CO2 have been falling for some time. Less wood & coal burning, more forests growing, more natural gas burning ... lower CO2 emissions.

And more conifer forests, the more cloud forming planet cooling aromatics released. Logically could be why warming has paused for almost 20 years. While deforestation is taking in many places in the tropics for palm oil and soy plantations - biofuels iow - northern forests, mostly conifers, are increasing.
