(Nasdaq: INTL - news). This new digital interface allows the Link Wireless Telephones to emulate Inter-Tel's Standard Digital Terminal, providing on-premises mobile workers with access to advanced calling features on their Link Wireless Telephones.
SpectraLink developed tailored interface features at Inter-Tel's request, permitting Link Wireless Telephones to track the duration and cost of individual telephone calls; scroll onscreen numbers past 11 digits; and allow call center supervisors to monitor customer service calls as they roam throughout a facility. The LinkPlus Inter-Tel interface also provides on-premises mobile workers with access to common telephone system features, such as conference calling, call forward and transfer, multiple line appearances, and automatic caller identification.
With this announcement, SpectraLink now provides digital interfaces to a large percentage of the PBXs installed in the United States.
''With this interface, our customers now benefit from increased productivity by combining some of the advanced features of Inter-Tel's Axxent and AXXESS voice platforms with the mobility and digital functionality of the Link Wireless Telephone,'' said Craig Steen, Inter-Tel Vice President. ''We already have successfully installed the Link WTS in over 40 customer sites, including retail and manufacturing locations.''
''Inter-Tel is well known for providing cost-effective PBX systems with a wide variety of intricate call handling capabilities,'' said Mike Cronin, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for SpectraLink. ''These features are important for SpectraLink's and Inter-Tel's target markets, which include call centers, school districts, retail, and manufacturing, where employee job functions depend on both mobility and access to sophisticated telephone features.''
The Link Wireless Telephone System
The SpectraLink Link Wireless Telephone System provides users with six- ounce Wireless Telephones for placing and receiving phone calls anywhere within the workplace. A network of Base Stations is installed throughout the facility, and as Wireless Telephone users move through the workplace, their calls are handed off from one Base Station to another.
