Inter-Tel and SpectraLink Develop Digital Interface For Wireless Telephone Systems and Digital Telephone Switches
On-Premises Mobile Workers With SpectraLink Wireless Telephones Can Now Access Sophisticated CTI Features of Inter-Tel AXXESS and Axxent PBX Systems
BOULDER, Colo., Sept. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- SpectraLink Corporation (Nasdaq: SLNK - news) today announced availability of the LinkPlus(TM) digital interface for the Link Wireless Telephone System(TM) (Link WTS) with the AXXESS(TM) and Inter-Tel Axxent(TM) digital telephone switches from Inter-Tel Inc. (Nasdaq: INTL - news). This new digital interface allows the Link Wireless Telephones to emulate Inter-Tel's Standard Digital Terminal, providing on-premises mobile workers with access to advanced calling features on their Link Wireless Telephones.
SpectraLink developed tailored interface features at Inter-Tel's request, permitting Link Wireless Telephones to track the duration and cost of individual telephone calls; scroll onscreen numbers past 11 digits; and allow call center supervisors to monitor customer service calls as they roam throughout a facility. The LinkPlus Inter-Tel interface also provides on-premises mobile workers with access to common telephone system features, such as conference calling, call forward and transfer, multiple line appearances, and automatic caller identification.
With this announcement, SpectraLink now provides digital interfaces to a large percentage of the PBXs installed in the United States.

The Link Wireless Telephone System
The SpectraLink Link Wireless Telephone System provides users with six- ounce Wireless Telephones for placing and receiving phone calls anywhere within the workplace. A network of Base Stations is installed throughout the facility, and as Wireless Telephone users move through the workplace, their calls are handed off from one Base Station to another.
