That's in the future, Dave! In the future, the machines will build new iterations of themselves. They'll be MUCH better at it that we EVER were.

Then, with our guaranteed annual income that continues to fuel our primitive consumption-based economy, we'll all have to figure out something else to occupy our time. If you want to work, perhaps you can do that? Amuse the bored, somehow? You know how to amuse me! Perhaps you can go on about how much BETTER it was when everyone had to work for a living?

This will just be a transitional stage, until we just get all our needs met without money. You'll just go to the grocery and get what you want, etc..
