It is an interesting thought that the government takeover of healthcare (ObamaCare) might end up reducing the need for medical tort reform.

It is interesting. What I'm trying to do is establish its utility.

It is very difficult to sue the government.

What I'm not seeing is how this is relevant. With malpractice, you sue the doctor, not the insurer. There is nothing in the proposed legislation to have doctors working for the government. The plaintiff would still be suing a private party. If there were plans to socialize the practice of medicine rather than just the insurance aspect, and the doctor was part of the government, then I would understand how things might change and lawsuits become more difficult. As things stand or are proposed, I don't get it.

Again, what am I missing?
