Jacob -- Your thoughts re: Dell make theoretical sense, but you run into trouble with the reality of Dell as an investment. Sure they are the best in their industry - but that really has not helped out the stock over the last few years. Dell has not been a good investment over a 3 year time-frame. It may have outperformed others in its industry, but it underperformed many tech stocks (at least pre-meltdown). Being the best in an industry does not equate to being a good investment if the industry is out of favor.
