Derek, Thanks for your response. Well cable modem here looks like about $200 for installation and an additional $39/mo. Taking into account that it saves me the cost of another phone line (plus being able to then cut back to measured from unlimited on my current line), and possibly eliminating my isp, it seems to pay for itself. That's why it seems to me, anyway, that 56k is a closing window.
