Yep, you gotta know who you are dealing with before determining the value of the posts. If, after learning of his/her reputation and history, you want to take advice from him/her, then great. Just do your own DD on the poster first. Of course, one can be slammed with a bunch of juvenille legal threats if you even discuss doing a simple background search on the Internet, but I am sure that most sophisticated posters on SI can see through that type of crappola.
