OT - AMD kicking Intel's butt? I think a lot of people HOPE AMD kicks INTC's butt. I've been reading PC Magazine for years and like clockwork every time AMD comes out with a new processor, "this is the one". I'll believe it when I see it. I owned NSM in the hopes that they'd be in the running also. They were in the doldrums until they coughed up Cyrix (after I sold them). An interesting market for very complicated silicon is the graphics chip business. One of the few techs I have left is TDFX. More of a bet than an investment <g>. Man, that's one tough market. I think some of the sharpest EEs on the planet work in that field. I agree with you wrt communications ICs. We'll see how BRCM can hold their valuation <g>. JF
