Apology accepted...
And believe me, I share your pain(financial & emotional)... :0(
However, I think anyone reading these threads must admit that they still feel some hope for eventual success. Why else would they be here??
As for the Turks, I've spoken with a shareholder who was in Charleston at the time MANOVA's officers dropped in to GRNO's offices. In case, that is, you may sense the Turkish deal is a complete fabrication. The fact that they were wearing $5,000 suits seemed to impress this shareholder as to their financial means. The fact that they had traveled to Charleston 2 separate times dropping off $50,000(refundable), and BC has gone to Turkey once, should say the rest.
But again, that is just hearsay from another shareholder.
And I'm sorry this has been so devastating to you, but it has for many people. We did basically the same thing your did, namely buying in from March-April, '97. And we doubled up our position in late April in order to trade for a few points. (liquidity seemed pretty good at that time)
Believe me Bruce, I can understand your position and so can several other signicant shareholders I know of. Actually, I had my accountant look into having my GRNO position declared "worthless stock", so I would be able to claim the tax loss now without having to actually sell the stock. And if it later turned around, I could file and adjusted tax return. Accountant got back to me and told me that it didn't qualify.
Why this is significant, is that a mmkr decided to make a market in GRNO last summer. If you look at every other microcap stock that has been halted, RMIL being the latest example, there exists no market for their stock and thus, it is worthless (for accounting purposes).
Some brokerage firm believed enough in this company that they chose to make the market (on the pink sheets) rather than let the company collapse as a worthless stock. If GRNO was an outright scam with no potential, they would have left it to die on the vine with no active market.
It may still die, but it also may survive. And rather than depress myself about facing death, I would rather choose hope of life. Since it all seems to come down to the flip of a coin anyway, I don't consider my beliefs to be irrational, it's 50/50 either way.
Regards,
Ron
