Amendment II here in Sarasota passed which calls for a constitutional amendment against gay marriage. However, if one looks further which many failed to do. It dissolves all Trusts that were set up by any singles who want to leave a partner their inheritance. It also applies to person who live together who are heterosexual as they are not married and it precludes them from having any trusts.

Truly an ugly amendment and since I was out of town I have not acquainted myself with all of the legal implications inherent in it but am learning a little since my return from others who are appalled that so little was read by heterosexual couples who chose to live together without being married. The amendment was written in (excuse me Seminole) typical lawyer like jargonese that made it difficult to understand.

Since it was defeated primarily by Latino and Black voters (from the radio's interpretation ) I am sure all they saw was same sex marriage and that was it.
