I've done a lot of freelance artwork for Genetic Anomalies' first game, ChronX.

My understanding based on ChronX and a conversation with Dave Margil, the GA art director, last night is that their wrestling game will be an online collectible card game much like ChronX. Genetic Anomalies developed their proprietary virtual collectible scheme and have created a profitable internet venture. I don't think there's anything else like it out there.

Although it may violate some of the posters here's definition of electronic games, it won't look anything like how THQ wrestling games have looked or played. To the best of my knowledge, it will play like a card game. The cards will be photographic material from Titan (too bad for us illustrators). Dave couldn't remember the length of the license off the top of his head... a few years maybe. They hope to have the game out by the end of 99.

Frankly, I'm really happy for Genetic Anomalies. I started working with them when they were operating out of a one bedroom apartment in Cambridge, still in the very early stages of developing ChronX. Sony picked up ChronX... and now this...
