George, I have liked your analysis of the markets, but I think you are harping too much on one-week NDX strength. The key reason for NDX being relatively strong is only because the SOX and software index were desperately holding support levels.
AMAT is a badly damaged stock. IBM, even after so-called great news, was very weak. JDSU, LU and AGR ran up more than 50%, not because of change in fundamentals, but simply a hard technical bounce. Most importantly, NDX hardly moved up on Friday, despite tremendous advance on Thursday afterhours.
Call it what you want, I don't see a rally anytime.
Your logic could be applied to gold stocks too. POG was down almost 2 bucks on Friday, yet HGMCY was up .4.
