These are the kinda headlines that are gonna bring the NAZ and Dow down (all from a.m. edition front page WSJ):

* * *

California is balking at paying some of the money needed to buy electricity. Only a court order may be keeping some generators from cutting off supplies.
* * *

* * *

Economists expect this year to be the worst for the U.S. economy since 1991, with a consensus forecast of just 2.1% growth. But only 5% think the economy is in a recession.
* * *

* * *

The major stock indexes have fallen back almost to where they began the year. Last week, the Nasdaq lost 7.1%; the industrials and S&P 500 also fell.
* * *

* * *

Lechters is closing 166 stores, laying off 30% of its staff and expects to take a charge of $36 million to $40 million.
* * *

I see tough times ahead and will keep shorting stocks for now.
