Todd, thanks for calling GA. It will be interesting to see if JAKK and THQI put up any fuss over this. It's not like this game is going to sell like crazy (it will not do even as well as WCW Nitro PC), but it might take a few marginal dollars from THQ. Or, it could boost interest in THQ's titles a bit.
It does look like Nitro 64 is coming soon. EB World says Feb. 10. I also saw an ad for it in WCW/NWO magazine. Should help the THQI price firm up before the pre-earnings run.
Doesn't seem to me that THQI has any of the following priced in:
A) Excellent management that will use this huge warchest to get much bigger in a hurry.
B) Rugrats 64 and reorders of the other RR titles (Gonna make Quest look like Bravo Air Race or something.)
C) GameFX. Farrell saw something great here to pay the bucks for.
D) The huge reserves. If the big games are sell-outs, as we've seen that they are, some of this money will flow to the bottom line this year, likely in the second half.
E) The remaining NOL. As if THQ didn't have enough earnings momentum, they even get a head start.
Btw, Penny Racers is shipping six days after Nitro 64. Since it is a Nintendo 64 game, it ships in bigger volumes than PSX games and has a higher wholesale price. Ie, it will help hold down WCW revenues. We won't be seeing anything like 88%, IMO.
