The Boxer Rebellion or The Boxer Revulsion?
Perhaps it's both.

The Left is still at it, with left-wing extremist Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., announcing her opposition to former U.S. senator John Ashcroft, R-Mo., President-elect Bush’s nominee for attorney general.

Not content to have pushed Linda Chavez to withdraw her name from consideration as labor secretary, the Left is redoubling its efforts by increasing its attacks on Ashcroft.

Hoping to land another blow to the nascent Bush presidency, still more than a week away from office, the Left – through reliable mouthpiece Boxer – is demanding that Bush withdraw Ashcroft’s nomination.

Why?

Because he is a conservative.

And also because his personal character and integrity are beyond reproach.

So, Boxer and her left-wing following are now saying that such a nomination is dividing America, rather than uniting it, as pledged by then-candidate George W. Bush.

What does that mean?

It means that Republicans must abandon their principles and shift to the middle, whatever that means.

But President-elect Bush was elected with a commonsense conservative agenda.

The Left’s – and Clinton’s – meritless claims about the popular vote mean nothing.

Article II of the Constitution provides that a majority of Electoral College votes shall determine the president.

Thus, the shrill rhetoric of Boxer belies their real intention: to destroy the presidency of President-elect Bush by defeating his nominees, in classic Clintonian fashion, by brutal use of the politics of personal destruction.

Well expected from the Leftist media is their silence when it comes to the politics of division and character assassination. In fact, they love it and are giddy that their favorite left-wing politicians are conducting this attack so vociferously.

Just imagine if Republicans had embarked on such a campaign. The Left would be beside itself condemning the "horror" of such tactics.

But here we are with the mean-spirited attack from the Left on John Ashcroft.

And let us not overlook other collateral attacks being conducted, such as the effort by the U.S. Civil Rights Commission in Florida, as a means of attempting to cast more doubt on the election results there, to give unwarranted credibility to the baseless charges lodged by the NAACP, Jesse "The Hateful" Jackson, Al "Big Mouth" Sharpton and other racial dividers.

There is not one shred of evidence that one single black voter was prevented from voting, yet the charade continues.

Of course it was Democrat officials that designed ballots, had responsibility for maintenance of voting machines, and oversaw the conduct of the election in the Florida counties in question.

Why, then, is this official-sounding commission summoning testimony from Gov. Jeb Bush and Secretary of State Katherine Harris?

The governor recused himself and appointed a Democrat in his place on the state elections canvassing board and Harris performed her electoral responsibilities according to state law.

This nonsensical farce has as its purpose furthering the cause of delegitimizing President-elect George W. Bush.

All left-wing politics as usual, concerned not with diligent work on behalf of the American people, but rather the sustained grab for power by any means necessary.

The Left considers this struggle a war.

It should be met with the overwhelming force of ideas and truth, which, if passionately pursued, can turn the tide of left-wing gutter tactics and defeat The Boxer Revulsion as well.
