In an early 1970s National Lampoon, an article purported to be a 50s ad campaign for the "1958 Bulgemobile, the Car of the Future!". The car shown in the car-toons was the prototype of the '58 Olds. A brilliant satire. A friend of my parents actually owned one, a lime-green chromastrophic glitzmobile with a white roof. At six years old, I thought it incredible and asked my dad to get one. He winced, no doubt realizing that his son had not a whit of taste. Definitely a "lumpy, billowy cloud-dream" nightmare. I'd love to have one...
