Arch Wireless and Mobile Airwaves Announce Multi-Year Agreement to Provide Wireless Information Server Solution to the Enterprise

WESTBOROUGH, Mass. and SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Arch Wireless, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: ARCH), a leading two-way wireless messaging and mobile information company, and Mobile Airwaves, Inc., a developer of wireless connectivity solutions, today announced they have signed a multi-year distribution agreement to deliver to their customers what is believed to be the most synchronized wireless email enterprise solution in the market today.

Under terms of the agreement, Arch will market and sell Arch Wireless(TM) Enterprise Solutions, a customized and specially enhanced wireless information server based on Mobile Airwaves' Aqivo technology. With this new server, mobile professionals will be able to replicate key elements of their desktop experience on their wireless device. Arch Wireless Enterprise Solutions, designed to address the needs of today's corporate IT organizations, resides entirely on a server behind the corporate firewall so enterprise data is contained within the corporate network.
Arch Wireless Enterprise Solutions will give mobile professionals secure, real-time access to corporate files and applications via a variety of wireless devices including two-way messaging, PDAs and cell phones. In addition to accessing their corporate email accounts, Arch customers will be able to read Word, text and PDF attachments, view corporate shared files, view desktop calendars, check availability, schedule meetings, and tap into custom or commonly used enterprise applications.
Moreover, unlike proprietary wireless data solutions, Arch Wireless Enterprise Solutions uses industry standard technology and can be customized and extended by end-users. Since Arch Wireless Enterprise Solutions has been developed around standard data technologies such as XML and SOAP, it will allow users to access data behind corporate firewalls without intrusive modifications or security concerns. The new solution can be set up in less than an hour if installed by IT personnel using the solution's "Wizard" and install shield.
