Snow cover is huge. I live in snow country and if we get a cold snap before we get snow (which is common as we live right on the divide between a maritime climate and a very cold interior climate)) pipes freeze all over the city. We always hope for a snow fall before we get a bad freeze. Our lives revolve around interior high pressure systems and maritime low pressure systems.
