I would not rule out the possibility that interim CEO becomes CEO, but I am still inclined to believe that Jobs has other plans. In the blurb Liz says, " If Apple were close to hiring a permanent CEO other than Jobs, this is the sort of top lieutenant post you'd typically let the new guy (or gal) fill." That would be a reasonable assumption unless one considers the possibility that the new CEO has already been chosen, and has requested Tim Cook be assigned. Consider for a moment that there are many details to be negotiated in the hiring of a CEO. Compensation, always at the top of the list, is not going to be a repeat of the [multi-million dollar drain regardless of performance] past. If a top flight CEO were about to take the helm of this fast paced cruiser, he would want to see some action before giving them the nod on compensation based on performance. It's my guess that the new CEO is already in orbital mode, pinging the mother ship in preparation for the tractor beam. Don't get me wrong! I'm not of the opinion that there will be a CEO announcement ice cream to go with Tuesday's copper cake. But, the party will be as much for the candidate as for the stockholders and adoring public. A sort of proof in the pudding gathering as one might witness before a wedding. Within all the hoopla there are some interesting bonds forming on a nuclear scale. All connections in these bonds seem to have an International flair for Business in developing the Apple corporate Machine. It's going to be a long HOT summer... HerbVic
