would like to take a min away from politics. Bfore I start, I want to make it clear that this is not in a "mine is bigger than yours" context. Its 1 more amongst many examples of worldwide folks trying to help... Today, in Australia, a 1 day cricket match was organized within 12 days : 2 teams were Asia Vs Rest of World. Great quality cricket, (ROW won the game), and at the end of the day, about $14.5+M was raised to help people in South/South East Asia. There were 70K people at the venue of the game (MCG in Melbourne). Apart from their game fees, any money they spent on sodas/beers/chips/burgers etc would add to the bottom line. There were corporate sponsorships, but a big chunk came in 1s & 2s and 5s from john doe someplace, just wanting to help.
