This is from JC's site from few days ago:

AMD has decided to come clean with their roadmap, it seems, according to this article. The nitty gritty:
* "AMD will begin producing significant quantities of chips from Dresden in the second quarter"
* Tbird might be marketed as "Athlon Professional"
* Tbird will be out in H2
* The AMD760 chipset (PC2100 DDR support, 266/133MHz bus) will be out in H2
* VIA will release the KZ-133 (basically, same as KX133) for Socket A
* Spitfire will be out in Q2 (a bit of a relief, the release dates of these chips were massively uncertain).
* Spitfire will be for sub-$1000 down to sub-$600 PCs.
* AMD's not yet finalized on Spitfire's marketing name ("K7" is as good a name as any, I say)
* Mustang will appear in Q3 (what, at the same time as Tbird?)
* Mustang will have up to 2MB L2
* Mustang will likely be marketed as "Athlon Professional" (what, not "Athlon Ultra"?)
* AMD770 chipset (dual-capable equivalent to AMD760) will be released for Mustang.

With expected Q2 release of Spitfire, shouldn't we start to see some noise from the hardware review sites? It needs new motherboards, so it's not as simple as going from Athlon 800 to 850.

Also, what is the difference between Spitfire and Thunderbird? Size of the cache? 128L L2 vs. 256K L2?
