Aren't there plenty of Republicans who supported Obama whom we can feel the same way about, we respect their independence on this one issue but disagree with them on others? Aren't we, to a degree, chastising the Republicans who are doing the same thing to their own that supported Obama, like Buckley? Good points, Neal. But the comparison is slightly dissimilar. If a sitting Rep senator, in fact, a former vice presidential candidate of that party, campaigned for Obama, I can assure you the Rep senatorial caucus would expel him/her forthwith (as the word goes). Big apples and little apples.
