He sort of has a grasp of it in that he does realize there is something called "demand". But he seems to think it is a nebulous concept that exists with no relationship to anything else. If you produce something, then demand rises to accommodate that production.

Sort of like on the Gulf Coast. You dig a hole and it will slowly fill with water. In i-node's world, the hole creates the water to fill it.
