It gives as rhetorical support for the amendment but it doesn't say or even suggest that the amendment is limited to milita purposes.

What you're calling "rhetorical support" is the stated purpose of the amendment.

The constitution doesn't suggest that our rights are limited to what's in the constitution, either, like privacy...<gggg>
