"Torture laws" Please.

I don't agree with Gore, but it did not appear he was supporting the widespread confinement, secret prisons, torture, and privacy invasion that this administration does

Well, Gore approved kidnapping a terrorist, sending him to a third country like Egypt that would torture him. That makes him okay with confinement, secret prisons (in the third world country), and torture. My biggest beef with Gore is his hypocrisy. We do need to take terrorism seriously and I'm not sure the "read 'em their rights, give 'em lawyers, pretend they're innocent till proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, don't listen to their phone calls or read their mail unless you've gotten advance notice from a judge" approach we use for crime is acceptable for people in worldwide organization bent on committing mass murder.

As for privacy invasions, have you forgotten the 900+ IRS and FBI files sent to the Clinton White House. There was no defense justification there, just a desire to get dirt on political enemies.
