music is a personal prefernce issue...
people should listen to the beat and style they like.
I grew up on secular rock, I fact yrs before there was secular rock I would change the beat in my head to a rock beat.
I was way before the 13th floor elevators<gg>
that's why when I was prasing Jesus one day yrs ago, a secular rock demon came out of me...
but, I don't have a music ministry.."I can't even play the spoons"<gg>
One of my ministries is to reach out to lost with music.
and just like the Wesleys reached out with bar songs that they changed
the lyrics to... I reach out to kids with a beat they are wired too....
but the lyrics bring life.
Our church has is loud and soft, rock and traditional.
Sometimes after the worship..it's so powerful that there is no use having a service....Ministers can't move .
The episcopals pioneered services that had instruments other than organs and a more open worship that was natural.
The pastor of the Espicopal church I went to got on Life magazine with
his change in worship with horns and a guitar in service.
I went to the same episcopal church from 4 to 30yrs old.....yes, I'm looking at the confiramtion booklet I got when I was 12 and the bile my grandmother gave my at confirmation in 1960..confirmed at 12.
like I said, music isn't evil...
lyrics and the motives of artist corrupt music.
No need for any apology, I know lots of people that have anointing for praise like you do...they like praise only.
I too listen to NO SECULAR MUSIC OF ANY KIND, but I don't expect christains to do that and don't preach for them too... I have no idea of judging their Bing Crosby<ggg>I will say KISS is evil!!!

More and more kids die form secular rock.....
but, I have 2 teens that have never listened to secular rock...
their life is a witness to that too. They think I'm the smartest dad in the world<ggg>
But, our message is Christ....not music. I reach thousands of youth in Austin with a positive message that says no drugs, obey parents,
no beer, stay in school, Jesus is Lord...all in lyrics of song.
they wouldn't listen to a preacher...but, they would a song.
then the lyrics grabbed their heart and it was too late.
Jesus had them. The Friday nite program has been rated very high in Austin for the 10-25 age group. Then again, many of those the show reaches are 1 yard from the gates of Hell.... this ministry
is so close to the gates of Hell that it's pretty hot sometimes.

Try this experiment....
read the parts of psalms and chronicles and Kings that talks about
King David and the slow worship he condcuted and the loud music he condcuted...
ask yourself..if I heard that loud music on stage and the curtain was drawn and I couldn't seek it was King David and his band...
would I brand the music of the devil only to be embarrassed when God pulled back the curtain and revelaed it was King David..???????
