100 meters is short range for the .223. I agree anyone would take a Weatherby .223 over an AR 15 .223.

The AR had reliability problems. Adding the forward bolt assist in the late 60s fixed some...later modifications have solved the rest.
(Yes I did train on the AR, first time in SF Training Group in 62.)

I do believe you would join me and throw the Weatherby in the trash for an M-4 .223 with all the new sight systems.
