(prior post disappeared)--April 27, 2000-- Concurrent Computer Corporation (Nasdaq: CCUR) announced today that it has reached an agreement with Time Warner Cable for supplying Video-On-Demand (VOD) equipment to Time Warner for calendar year 2000 and 2001.
The exact terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Mike LaJoie, Vice President Corporate Development, Time Warner Cable, "As Time Warner proceeds with plans to roll-out digital services through 2001, one of our primary focuses will be Video-On-Demand. Concurrent has given us excellent support at Oceanic and Tampa; as a result of this proven performance and resolution of a mutually acceptable business agreement, we have made a commitment to do business with Concurrent through our future VOD installations."
Steve Nussrallah, President and Chief Executive Officer, Concurrent Computer Corporation, stated, "We are pleased to have reached this agreement with Time Warner and look forward to supporting Time Warner's roll-out of Video-On-Demand in 2000 and 2001. This commitment on Time Warner's part marks the end of a very successful development stage and the beginning of the roll-out phase."
Concurrent's MediaHawk(tm) VOD System is commercially launched at Oceanic Cable in Hawaii serving approximately 254,000 households, and is in the testing stages at Time Warner's Tampa Bay division. The MediaHawk VOD system is a scalable network of video servers and specialized software applications. Concurrent's system is based on its MediaHawk Video Server, and is a scalable, fully integrated, end-to-end VOD solution. The MediaHawk technology includes complete system management and control capabilities. |
