Lee, You are right about the economic news, it shouldn't cause the swings in the market but it always does. Traders always hedge themselves according to these numbers and there are opportunities to trade these swings. I remember my favorite trading day ever and it was last year before a PPI number came out. I took a chance and bought my favorite stocks right before the close and the number was good and I had my best day ever. I guess traders have had days like that too and try to do it again. Now, I just react to the numbers instead of guessing, it saves alot of stress the night before the numbers come out. HJ
