It is true the NYSE works on a true bid ask basis. I put in this link to the page that explanes the bid ask process at the NYSE, but this link don't seem to work. I have put in a link to the NYSE home page that does work. You can get to the explaination of the bid ask from there. This link did not work for me --> nyse.com
