If I didn't see it as an assault on me, I would agree. I think liquur licenses (for example) are stupid. I think anyone should be able to sell liquor. I don't care what people sell, or use, as long as it doesn't directly hurt me, or other people who have not consented. I think it's possible that wearing perfume should not be allowed in public spaces- since I have seen people have severe attacks in response to perfumes- and I say that as someone who loves perfume- but I don't wear it in public indoor areas anymore because of people who are bothered by it.

If everyone were polite, and did their more assaultive things at home, it wouldn't be an issue- but since people are not all polite, we need the government to step in. It wouldn't be an issue if we weren't highly civilized, and mashed together in cities- but we are, and so regulations of behavior are needed. I'd prefer they be minimalist- and not dependent on morals, but on protecting people from hazards that are, actually hazards, which they do not consent to. I'd like the government out of the business of protecting us from hazards that we do consent to.
