Jim, you got me into Lam a while back. I'm still in and getting kind of
sea sick with the wild swings. However if one stays away from the
daily swings and looks at the weekly chart Lam is looking extremely
well. Anyway snipped this tid-bit from:

Even though it might not be Lam's equipment it does demonstrate that
even if the book-to-bill is low that isn't stopping the future and the
future is semi-conductors. I'm of the opinion that the fall in DRAM
prices will fuel companies to invest heavily in new equipment to
improve yields and ultimately lower costs and improve margins. In our
capitalist society low costs generally mean more demand. When the
price of something falls by 50% demand usually increases by 100%.

Lam and Applied Materials are excellent places to rest one's money.
