TEQUESTA, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 22, 1997--Saf T Lok (NASDAQ:LOCKC), manufacturer of the only child safety locks intended for use on loaded guns, announced today that Senator Dennis DeConcini and Congressman James Stanton have accepted appointments to the company's board of directors.
Senator DeConcini is the former senior Senator from the state of Arizona, an office he held for 18 years. The Senator has
served on the Senate Appropriations Committee, where he chaired several Subcommittees including General Government, and
served on the Subcommittees of Defense, Energy and Water Development and Foreign Operations. Senator DeConcini also
served on the Senate Judiciary Committee and chaired the Subcommittee on Patents, Copyrights and Trademarks. He also
served on the Subcommittees on Antitrust, Monopolies and Business Rights, the Constitution and the Courts. In addition, the
Senator served on the Select Intelligence Committee and was Chairman of the Committee in 1993 and 1994. Senator
DeConcini also chaired the Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe (Helsinki Commission).
In early 1995, Senator DeConcini joined the firm of Parry and Romani Associates Inc., one of the most successful and
effective firms in the crowded field of Washington legislative advocacy.
Former Congressman James Stanton has been an attorney and a registered lobbyist in Washington, D.C. since 1988 and
represented the 20th Congressional District of Ohio in the United States House of Representatives from 1971 to 1977, where
he served on the Select Committee on Intelligence, the Government Operations Committee, and the Public Works
Transportation Committee. From 1981 to 1988 he served as executive vice president of the Delaware North Company, one
of the largest privately held food companies in the United States.
Stanton has held an active and distinguished career at the most senior levels of business, law and government. He now heads
up the firm of Stanton and Associates, one of Washington's top teams of lobbyists and legislative consultants.
