addendum on royalties
sleuthing, one small error... <g>
The first half royalty payment could have covered sales of up to $433,333. Since the period of exclusivity ended on April 22, during the half, only sales up to that date would have been subject to the royalty. First quarter sales exclusive of GaAs were only $86,508. So, the royalty tea leaves say "no" on HBT, but are only "inconclusive" on CyberDisplay.
Unfortunately, due to the coincidence of CyberDisplay sales rising only after a royalty would no longer be due, the question will remain unanswered until this information is disclosed by Kopin. In the case that CyberDisplay does not use technology covered by the patents, it's in Kopin's best interest not to disclose that. The association with MIT gives them credibility - they can have their cake and eat it, too.
