The New York and Los Angeles market have been weak for the past two years. Real estate prices are cyclical. They always over-shoot, then correct. It's driven by human psychology. The massive excess of the post-9/11 real estate bubble required White House intervention to facilitate and clean-up at taxpayer cost - really stupid policy by a panicked Bush Admin.
