<<According to today's (1/29) Wall Street Journal, Silicon Graphics Inc. has announced that they will begin porting their graphic software to the Wintel platform. First on-line will be a package called "Cosmo Worlds" - a 3 dimensional graphics package used to produce 3-D graphics on the Web. The company is also looking "very seriously" at porting software from the Alias/Wavefront special effects unit. This is software that is used to produce special effects for movies. The company, known for it's production of powerful workstations, hopes to eventually derive a quarter of their revenue from software "in a few years". >> From AOL First Apple now SGI.
