It kinda comes down to Red States versus Blue States though, doesn't it.

I'm in a Red State and I believe most Republicans here vote a straight Republican ticket.

Connecticut is a Blue State and I believe most Democrats there vote a straight Democratic ticket.

I believe Trump will win my State.

Republicans all the way down the ticket will win in my State.

BUT, the Presidency is based on the Electoral College and a lot of the bigger states are Blue, including California, New York, Illinois.

If more of the smaller Red States elect Republican Senators then the Republicans will control the Senate.

If the Red States overwhelmingly elect Republicans to the House and some of the Blue States also a few then Republicans can control the House too.

Mid Term elections are VERY important too. As we saw in 2010.
