SEC suspends trade in 2DoTrade over anthrax claims

WASHINGTON, Nov 6 (Reuters) - Federal securities regulators
on Tuesday suspended trading in a company that they said issued
press releases claiming it is testing and about to distribute
an anthrax disinfectant.
The Securities and Exchange Commission stopped trading in
2DoTrade Inc. <TDOT.OB>, a Nevada corporation that purportedly
has offices in British Columbia and England, because of
questions raised about the accuracy of the company's claims.
There are also questions about the status of its business
operations and the identity of the people controlling its
operations and management, the SEC added.
2DoTrade could not immediately be reached for comment. The
trading suspension lasts through November 19. Its shares last
traded on Monday for 47 cents on the Bulletin Board.
"Investment scams that attempt to prey on fears of
terrorism are abhorrent," said Stephen Cutler, director of the
SEC's fraud-fighting enforcement division. "We will be vigilant
about rooting out and prosecuting those who seek to exploit
recent events to defraud investors."
