or the Irish Americans/Canadians who supported the Orange Lodge?

A century ago it was an accepted practice to discriminate, everyone did it. It is less fashionable now, but many people still do it. Of course once discrimination disappears, so do the communities that discriminated or were discriminated against. So some groups cling to it in order to maintain their groups.
