Yup.

I think we need to help people who want help, because a desire to change is taking responsibility (imo). Although it doesn't do to have people starving in the streets, even if they won't take responsibility, or to have children in poverty, because their parents won't take responsibility- but adults- well, if they intentionally screw up their health, or their lives, they only *deserve* minimal assistance- unless they show a willingness to improve.

I'm all for helping people stop doing unhealthy behaviors, and I'm totally in favor of helping people get job skills, become better parents, and become healthier people. While I don't believe in criminalizing things (like smoking, or drugs, or alcohol)- I also don't believe society should subsidize these things at all.
