constrained by the Rules of Professional Conduct? Of course we are. The rules require courtesy. They also require vigorous representation. Many years ago, a judge threatened to put me in jail for contempt because I had turned my back on him and walked back to counsel table in frustration while he was speaking. I was a young lawyer at the time and made a natural mistake in the heat of battle. I didn't go to jail but got a lecture.
