Intershop Wins Order From Go2Net to Supply Software Products


Jena, Germany, July 13 (Bloomberg) -- Intershop Communications AG, a German maker of electronic commerce software, said it gained an order from Go2Net Inc. to supply software for the company's Internet services.

Intershop agreed to supply Go2Net, a Seattle-based Internet directory and Web site operator, with software to improve Go2Net's services. Financial details of the contract from Go2Net, which operates online shops ''Virtual Avenue'' and ''HyperMart,'' weren't provided.

Intershop expects to profit from Go2Net's more than 375,000 customers and expand its market share in the growing e-commerce market. Consumers will spend $11 billion to buy groceries over the Internet by 2003, according Forrester Research Inc.

Intershop shares rose as much as 6.5 euros, or 2.4 percent, to 279 euros.
